Rocket Parade
Saturday, July 22nd from 2-4 pm

Comprised of seasoned musicians with wide experience and diverse backgrounds, ROCKET PARADE is a multi-generational four-piece band that delivers soulful melodies and lyrics, searing guitar, out of this world synththesizers, hammer heavy piano leads, and a back beat to build your house on.

The band’s roots start in NEDERLAND, COLORADO with Benjamin Sproul (Guitar/Vocals) of the legendary ROSE HILL DRIVE family, and musical wizard, Andrew Lunsford (Keys/Synth/Vocals) getting together in Lunsford’s home studio to record and share songs after jamming at local get downs.

Despite a wide age gap, Sproul and Lunsford didn’t seem to mind and formed a music partnership unlike any other. Lunsford, having long accomplished career as a record engineer and producer, working with clients spanning back to the 70’s, including BOSTON, LEON RUSSELL, and GEORGE THOROGOOD to name a few; and Sproul, coming from a background immersed in music being around and playing with his older brothers’ band ROSE HILL DRIVE as well as his own bands, both found a natural flow and creation with music reminiscent of the music from a bygone era. Lunsford’s vast recording resume involving grammies and platinum records, the independent recording nature of the band began and ROCKET PARADE was born.

The music combines so many influences and its difficult to pin down to one style, but brings to mind the bayou-back-beat of DR JOHN, the searing guitar improve of the ALLMAN BROTHERS, the funky notion of the Meters, and the soulful melodies that brush on R&B origins. Spacey improve naturally finds its way into the mix and no song is ever delivered quite the same. The driving force of rock, and the heart of soul, Rocket Parade makes it all their own.

Sun Jr.
Saturday, August 26th from 2-4 pm

Sun Jr. is the bastard son of a psychedelic-fueled desert orgy no one acknowledges, but resembles all who were there, like Hendrix, Young, The Grateful Dead, and The Doors.  Raised in the shadows of their half-siblings, and kindred cousins including My Morning Jacket, The War on Drugs, Lord Huron, Father John Misty, and Wilco, Sun Jr. sounds as familiar as their family tree, yet their configuration of pedal steel, banjo, electric guitar, bass-organ, and drums creates a whole new sound that is both classic and forward.

Never allowing the song structure to harness the impulse of the moment, Sun Jr. creates a wall of sound through their unique tapestry of folk, Americana, and rock n’ roll, melded with swirling psychedelic effects. Effortlessly slipping through the ebb and flows of ethereal space ballads, dark surf waltzes, and swampy foot-stomping jams, the vocals become another layer to the music. Still, it should not be understated the power wielded by the dynamic dual vocals of Jim Heekin’s twin-engine rumbling airplane soaring and diving through desert canyon walls and Matt Kubis’s banished angel calling out into the isolated night of the backwoods along the furthest edges of the Rocky Mountains. More an experience than performance, tune in and drop out with Sun Jr. and you’ll be reverberating in the glow of the little sun for days and nights to come.

Formed in 2013, and hailing from Boulder, Sun Jr. has played in highlighted venues including Mackey Auditorium, The Boulder Theater, and E-Town, plus uncounted festivals, music halls, breweries, bars, and house parties in and around Colorado.
