Upslope ventures into the ready-to-drink beverage category with Spiked Snowmelt-based, cocktail-inspired libations

BOULDER, Colo. (June 1, 2022) — Boulder-based Upslope Brewing Company, makers of craft hard seltzer brand Spiked Snowmelt, enters the ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail category with the introduction of a bold new beverage: Snowmelt Hard Sipper. Two unique cocktail-inspired flavors made from fermented sugar and without spirits, packaged each in 12-ounce four-pack boxes, will launch later this month.

Artfully crafted using their popular hard seltzer Spiked Snowmelt as the base and all-natural ingredients, Hard Sipper is a 12% ABV cocktail-inspired libation crafted to keep it casual. These high-octane creations are intended to be sipped slowly and are best enjoyed over ice. The two inaugural flavors include House Punch and Lavender Lemon Flora.

The wheels have been turning since the development and success of Spiked Snowmelt. How can we innovate further?” says Upslope Founder and President, Matt Cutter. “We saw the rise in popularity of RTDs and knew we could level up Snowmelt into something truly unique–not just another margarita in a can. After piloting many versions in our tap rooms, we’re excited to offer these one-of-a-kind flavors to anyone who’s ready to leave the mixologist and muddling for another time and place while still enjoying a high-end cocktail experience.”

The two Hard Sipper offerings have unique flavor profiles not typically found in a can. House Punch is inspired by a Caribbean “Rum” Punch that is sweet, tart, spice forward and dry. House Punch brings together black tea-infused Spiked Snowmelt base, lemon juice, hibiscus and fresh nutmeg. The Lavender Lemon Flora marries a lavender-infused Snowmelt base, honey, sugar and lemon juice to produce a floral and lightly sweet drink.

This line extension was born of my background as a mixologist and the idea that it should be easy for everyone to enjoy a quality cocktail whenever and wherever,” says Upslope tap room bartender and resident “Cocktail Czar”, Mark Edwards. “I wanted to develop a recipe that balanced esoteric ingredients and unique flavor profiles while retaining the casual and relaxing feeling of enjoying a cocktail without any real spirits and none of the fuss.”

Snowmelt Hard Sipper will be available in 12-ounce four packs at Upslope’s two Boulder tap rooms and across Upslope’s distribution region of the Rocky Mountains, Midwest, and southern United States.
