DESCRIPTION:Boogie on down to Lee Hill tonight for some live tunes by  Tom Baldwin! \n  \nAbout the Band: \n  \nCaraTrom   is the stage name of   Tim Baldwin.  It is a Gaelic word that means “bold friend”\, which is the literal Germanic origin of “Baldwin” from the Middle Ages. \nTim is a Denver-based singer-songwriter who has an eclectic acoustic Irish/bluegrass sound with Americana overtones with engaging lyrics and melodies.  He focuses on guitar-driven songs  about life and love\, with the occasional banjo and ukelele just to liven things up a bit.   Most songs are striking originals\, with a few covers with unique twists thrown in now and then. \nHe’d love to help out with charity events and fundraisers so let him know if he can help! \nEnjoy the music and Slainte!

He moved to Boulder and completed a masters degree in choral music following a degree in music education. His formal training was augmented early on by picking bluegrass fiddle tunes with his beloved grandpa\, Papa who always said\, “I taught Johnny 3 chords and he took it from there.” John was on to writing his own songs that very day. \nJohn was always interested in songwriting and patterned his early music after his heroes\, Lennon & McCartney. His current favorite influences include new stars of alt and indie folk\, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver\, Gregory Alan Isakov\, Anais Mitchell\, and Storyhill. \nJohn is most recently a finalist in the Great American Song Contest\, singer-songwriter category with his song\, “Yesterday (I Wish There Was a Way)”. \nJohn finds inspiration in his family\, students\, songwriting friends\, and the mysterious beauty of music.

As a soloist\, Jeff has been awarded top prizes in guitar competitions in both Minneapolis and Chicago. He has released three solo albums and enjoys working with composers to present new works. Each album showcases a new piece commissioned by Jeff\, including David Crittenden’s concerto for guitar and orchestra\, Haunted. As an ensemble musician\, he has shared the stage with a variety of world-class artists including Zeitgeist\, the Minnesota Contemporary Ensemble and members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition\, Jeff was a member of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet (MGQ) for ten years. As a member of the MGQ\, he appeared as a soloist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra\, Minnesota Orchestra\, Austin Symphony Orchestra\, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and others. The group also appeared on National Public Radio\, Minnesota Public Radio\, Twin Cities Public Television\, WFMT – Chicago\, and Wisconsin Public Radio. \nAs a composer he has written for a wide variety of instrumentations ranging from full orchestra to drum set to unaccompanied clarinet. He has been commissioned to compose for Zeitgeist\, the Ironwood Trio (clarinet trio) and the Saint Paul Guitar Trio\, and he has received multiple commissions from MacPhail Center for Music. A full album of his works is currently in production. \nJeff holds Master of Music and Doctor of Music degrees from Northwestern University. He teaches at MacPhail Center for Music in downtown Minneapolis where he enjoys working with students in a variety of styles including rock and roll where he can revisit his roots as a musician on a weekly basis.

His parents were both classical musicians\, and from a young age he dove into many forms of music playing piano\, guitar\, and singing. Moving west to attend CU Boulder\, Joe managed the a cappella group the CU Buffoons and formed an original funk rock band Dogs Got Flavor. He performs with bands and solo; DJs events; is represented by Eden Talent Agency; and teaches voice\, guitar\, and piano in Denver. Currently he works with Elite Entertainment and has performed with original bands and entertainment companies such as Moments Notice\, Hipster Mama Productions\, Kory Brunson Band\, Funkiphino\, Emma Mays and the Hip\, and theMOVED. Days after I quit my day job\, I attended their local jam. Soon after I was giving a residency. It was one of the best things that could of happened to me at that time. I now had a place to perform weekly\, not only that but the older cat’s I was playing with hiped me to the Blues\, “Real Blues”. DESCRIPTION:Boogie on down to Lee Hill tonight for some live tunes by   Tim Ostdiek! \n  \nAbout the Band: \nTim Ostdiek is a playful\, uplifting\, and engaging singer\, songwriter and performer. He writes feel-good\, big-hearted folk with a drop of something funky. With hopeful and purposeful songs\, Ostdiek doesn’t shy from the deep and heavy. A tasteful and dynamic guitarist\, Ostdiek often fits fingerpicking\, strumming\, and lead elements into one song. Whether in a concert hall\, club\, brewery\, or living room\, Ostdiek always reaches the hearts of his listeners and sends them out a little brighter than they came in. \n\nHis songwriting has garnered accolades such as honorable mention in the Telluride Troubadour and finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. His song “Goodbye” was featured in the PBS show Roadtrip Nation. Ostdiek has opened for some of the nation’s best singer/songwriters\, such as Sarah Jarosz and Steve Forbert. and played several prominent Colorado venues such as Swallow Hill. Ostdiek is an important figure in the Longmont\, CO\, music scene\, hosting a weekly open mic/jam and a monthly songwriting group. He plays upwards of 150 shows a year. \n\nOriginally from Scottsbluff\, Nebraska\, his love for music was born in a middle school guitar class. “Once I learned two chords I figured I could start making up my own songs\,” Ostdiek said. He studied music at Western Nebraska Community College\, then communications at the University of Nebraska before moving to Longmont\,  where he still lives. The move was brought about by the death of a close friend\, a breakup\, and the desire to start over and heal. This season in his life became the EP “Temporary Home.” In the fall of 2016 Ostdiek quit his job at a coffee shop and dropped out of his online classes to pursue music full time.
