Most dirtbags, parents and non-parents alike, have been subjected to these irksome lectures about the life-altering aftermath of child rearing. Generally the orator means well, but aside from being insta-infuriating, this old-school idiom is verifiably wrong. Finally, there is an entire community of procreators coming together to demonstrate that not only can you adventure post-parenthood, but it can be a vital means of self-care, not to mention you can have a damn good time along the way– meet Adventure Mamas Initiative (AMI).

AMI is a rad nonprofit organization that supports women and their families by encouraging outdoor adventure. They’ve compiled a community of tenacious mamas who are pushing back on archaic stereotypes and redefining motherhood. These women use the AMI platform to connect to climb, backpack, mountaineer, surf, cycle, ski, hike, and of course, drink ample post-adventure brews.
This October 5-7, Upslope Brewing is stoked to be partnering with Adventure Mamas at the Dirtbag Family Bash, the first-ever family adventure festival, based out of Moab, UT. The Bash is a celebration of community, adrenaline, nature, and of course, dirtbag culture where all are welcome to join in the festivities. 120 people from all over North America will be attending and showcasing that adventure is definitely a family value.
Upslope will be sponsoring happy hours on both Friday and Saturday at the festival. Additional on-site activities will include gear demos, slacklining, yoga, games, dancing, panels, crafts, workshops, and dirtbag epicness for the whole family.
Participants are in for a weekend of desert camping between the Colorado River and epic red-walled canyon cliffs. The festival site is also within close proximity to world-class mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and paddling. Sounds pretty dreamy right?
