Sewing Basics and Beyond with Peapod and Nate (Flatiron Park)

Sewing Basics and Beyond! This workshop is a fantastic introduction to sewing where participants will spend the first part learning the basics including: tips to make sewing go faster and more consistent, how to master a straight stitch and an overview of the important tools needed by anyone just picking up a needle and thread that will help them be well on their sewing adventure! From there we will go step-by-step using what we just learned to make a lovely market tote bag made from high quality linen/cotton blend fabrics, perfect for carrying around all your daily essentials!

This is a beginner sewing class but basic knowldege of how to use your sewing machine is required. Buy your tickets   here!

Schedule:
2:00pm – 2:10pm
Come for a beer, and meet your fellow crafters. (First beer is on us!)

2:10pm – 4:00pm
Let the sewing begin! Lindsey will take you through a introduction to sewing. Then, we’ll take you step by step through sewing a market tote!

Working Sewing machine. Don’t have a machine, but want to join in the fun? We have a limited supply that can be rented for the duration of the class! Just purchase the sewing machine rental ticket.

White thread

Rotary Cutter and/or scissors (we’ll have a limited supply to borrow if needed)

Pins (we’ll have some you can borrow as well)

Seam ripper

What is included in the ticket price?
Detailed instruction, access to classroom supplies, all fabric needed to make one tote bag and 1 beer ticket.
