DESCRIPTION:Tribe Nawaar is partnering with their friends\, Alexandria Ensemble\, to bring the joy of a Middle Eastern Hafla and the fun of belly dancing to live music to the Upslope Brewery on Flatiron Court in Boulder on Saturday October 20 from 4-7pm. \nAll levels of musicians are welcome to join in the music making jam so bring your instruments and fun loving attitude. All levels of dancers from any style of dance are encouraged to get up and dance\, whether in costume or not. \nWhat:\nA hafla with live music. What is a hafla you ask? ‘Hafla’ comes from the Arabic meaning get-together\, party\, or ceremony. Outside of Arabic-speaking countries it began to be used to refer to a gathering of belly dancers performing casually to live or recorded music. \nThis hafla is hosted by\, Tribe Nawaar\, a Boulder-based tribal belly dance company and costume shop\, in collaboration with some of our friends from the Alexandria Ensemble of Fort Collins. We welcome musicians and dancers from other styles to join us in this fun and free event.
