Live Music: Longest Day of the Year (Lee Hill)

Longest Day of the Year joins us for a special St. Patty’s Day party! Wear your green and join us for some great tunes!

BAND BIO:

The Longest Day of the Year (TLDOTY) dawned in Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2010, when the guitar/vocal-and-drum duo of t.Mule and Darin Graber met up and joined in with Brian McCosky (telecaster, vocals) and Dan O’Donnell (bass, vocals). The men are of the midwest, Graber from Indiana and the others from Michigan, and met in Boulder after wanderings too numerous to recount. Their sound is a well-aimed kick in the pants from a dirty cowboy boot at a rock concert, recalling Lucero, The Tallest Man on Earth, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, and even Gram Parsons and Hank Williams.

Since the moment Graber and t.Mule moved into apartments that shared walls and started making sounds together, and since McCosky and O’Donnell (old friends from Michigan nights with the Mudbugz) brought their musical expertise and range, this ambitious four-piece has utilized all the advantages of durable youth and early-found experience, having played over 100 shows and recording a full-length album at Boulder’s Coupe Studios with producer Jason McDaniel (Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, Rose Hill Drive) within its first year. TLDOTY looks to first brand the entire Front Range, then the west, then the world, with its complex and intense flavor of whiskey-country-rock.
