DESCRIPTION:  \nBoogie on down to Lee Hill tonight for some live tunes by John Bunzli! \n  \nAbout The Band: \nEver since he can remember\, John has been surrounded by music. As a child he spent hours listening to a family record collection that included everything from classical to jazz\, show tunes to pop and music from a variety of different cultures and countries. John has always been musical\, piano lessons\, school choir etc. Then he discovered the Beatles – life was good! He remembers spending his hard earned paper route money to buy every one of their records. \nA dream he had in high school changed his life. “I woke up the next morning and knew I had to have a guitar”. He managed to wrangle his sister’s old beat up nylon string and he never looked back. He began taking classical lessons while teaching himself other styles and experimenting with songwriting and improvisation. \nJohn studied music at the University of Colorado Denver. Although professionally trained\, his approach to music has always been an intuitive\, emotional one\, “I’ve always gotten more from just listening to and really experiencing music than from analyzing it”. \nJohn started paying his dues not long after he got his first “real” guitar\, a now well worn Fender Telecaster. After playing in several bands in the Boulder/Denver area\, John decided it was time to strike out on his own. The result is his stunning debut CD “The Well”

Some people like to rock\, we prefer the roll.” \n“The Anthony Russo Band’s vintage sound is a highly flammable mixture of west coast jump/swing\, rockabilly\, rhythm & blues and rock’n’roll.” \n“It’s a lifestyle! A deep affection and appreciation of American roots music\, culture\, and style. The music we play and the songs we write are the way we live every day.” \nSouthside Denver native Anthony Russo is a first generation\, self taught musician. He started playing guitar at the age of 8. After seeing his church band perform\, he instantly recognized what he wanted to do with his life. “The way the music was able to move people and affect them in such a positive way\, I knew it was for me.” \n\nThrough middle and high school Anthony formed many basement and garage bands\, playing parties any chance he could get. “I remember we were at a party and saw a couple guitars laying around\, we just picked them up and started jamming. All of a sudden we look up and everyone at party was gathered around listening\, I knew I was on the right track.” \nAfter high school Anthony was waiting tables and working in a call center for a few years\, just trying to get by. “One day I just couldn’t take it anymore\, sitting in a cubical all day everyday\, I knew I had to get out.” Anthony quit his job and decided to pursue his passion for music. Soon after he attended a local open mic and was hired on the spot as the lead guitar player for the house band. After playing with the house band for a year\, Anthony decided it was time to form and front his own band in 2013. \nThe Anthony Russo Band has played all over Colorado for the past few years\, making a name for themselves and gaining widespread attention as one of the finest acts around\, with their killer musicianship\, raw style and exciting energetic live performances.
