SUMMARY:Live Music: Jack Hadley (Flatiron Park)
DESCRIPTION:Jack Hadley is bring the tunes tonight! Make sure you make your way to our Flatiron Park tap room for blues and brews! \nAbout the Band:\nThe son of a Filipino mother and an African-American father\, Jack was born in the Philippines. He grew up in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. His mother bought him a guitar at the age of twelve because she wanted to keep him busy. The family moved to Denver\, Colorado\, where he learned to play music by ear\, playing music by everyone from Hendrix to Dylan\, unaware that he was learning the foundation of American music – the blues. \nJack played in a number of Denver area bands\, sharpening his guitar skills and discovering his vocal talent along the way. In addition to performing as a solo artist and hired gun\, Hadley was a member of reggae band Rude Culture and r&b/funk outfit Network. In 2005 he struck out on his own with The Jack Hadley Band\, a blues-based project\, to focus on writing and performing his original material. That same year Jack was playing at a local Denver club when he was approached by blues veteran Otis Taylor who happened to be in the audience. For the next 18 months Jack was Taylor’s lead guitarist\, playing at festivals and shows all over the U.S.\, Canada and the United Kingdom. He appears on Otis Taylor’s 2007 Telarc release “Definition Of A Circle” playing lead guitar and lap steel guitar. Notable musicians on this recording include ex-Thin Lizzy axeman Gary Moore and blues harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite. In November 2006 he recorded two songs with keyboard wizard Steve McQuarry at the legendary Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco including his revolutionary track “You & Me.” \nThe fall of 2007 marked the beginning of a new project with bluesman Dan Treanor. “Brothers Blood & Bone” is a fresh look at the blues today that includes new songs from Treanor and Hadley along with their updated versions of classics from Blind Lemon Jefferson\, Sonny Boy Williamson and Walter “Billy Boy” Arnold. In 2011 Hadley contributed lead vocals to Neil Haverstick’s “Hide & Seek” CD on Stickman Records. \n“The St. Louis Sessions” was released in October\, 2014. Nine original songs recorded with the St. Louis Blues All-Stars: Producer/keyboard player Bob Lohr\, drummer Keith Robinson and bassist Terry Coleman. Recorded at Casa Del Torretta by David Torretta\, mastered by Matt Murman. Available at www.jackhadleymusic.net\, Amazon\, CD Baby\, iTunes and Spotify.

SUMMARY:Live Music: Melody Pond (Flatiron Park)
DESCRIPTION:Live tunes by Melody Pond\, tasty beer by Upslope! \n  \nAbout the Band:\nMelody Pond is the song that dances on the water\, echoes on the wind\, and enchants your ear drums. It is a duo made up of singer/songwriters\, Candy Lee and Emily Rowland\, who take turns backing each other up on their songs\, both vocally and instrumentally. Though Candy and Emily are each talented performers in their own right\, magic happens when they perform together. The pair have a been singing together in various band formations for almost a decade\, perfecting their tight\, seamless harmonies. Their sound ranges from fun and powerful to honest and tender. Rooted in the earthiness of folk\, Melody Pond keeps it fresh by merging modern indie influences with throwback moods of funk and blues\, with jazz. The duo has been compared to modern artists Rising Appalachia\, First Aid Kit\, and The Ditty Bops.  \nCandy Lee is the 2011 Northwest Arkansas Music Award Winner for Best Female Singer/Songwriter and Best Female Vocalist in a Band. She was also a Grassy Hill New Folk Finalist at the 2015 Kerrville Folk Festival. Melody Pond (formerly Candy Lee and the Sweets) have performed at the Yonder Mountain Harvest Festival\, as well as the Fayetteville Roots Festival\, and a sold out show at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. They have opened for Elephant Revival\, Ben Miller Band\, Amy Lavere\, and The Lost Gonzo Band. Emily Rowland has performed back up vocals for national act\, Brother Josephus and the Love Revival.

SUMMARY:Live Music: Blind Alley Troubadours (Flatiron Park)
DESCRIPTION:Blind Alley Troubadours are bringing the tunes tonight at our Flatiron Park tap room\, don’t miss it! \n\nAbout the Band:\nBlind Alley Troubadours are a Fort Collins\, CO band that likes to keep our audience guessing. Our music integrates various styles including Folk\, Americana\, Rock\, Blues\, Irish\, Country\, and Awesomeness.  We’ve been described as everything from alt-country to mountain rock to gypsy rock.  Genres aside\, we play whatever we feel will get you groovin’ and refuse to be pigeon-holed. \n\nFront man John-Erik Priegel starts it off with his impressive songwriting and a smooth melodic finger picking style to go with his gritty yet peaceful voice. He and his brother\, lead guitarist Gideon Priegel\, who comes in with background compliments but will also rip your face off with a solo\, were looking for a new sound after their previous band\, 2 Star Motel\, disbanded.  The Classically trained violinist Karmen Mitchell was soon to join\, and evolved her playing style into something that will take you over and then leave you in awe.  Next came bassman Kyle Shelp\, who after many years of gardening\, brings some sick beets along with backup vocals.  The newest addition to the band is drummer David Rothenberg\, with his tasteful style and classy fills that make you think of riding 2 feet of powder while roastin’ a bone. Together they form the unique sound of the Blind Alley Troubadours. A sound that quite frankly is hard to describe\, but one that will get your boots kickin’.
