ABOUT THE BAND:

Emily Pennington cut her teeth in Los Angeles, training professionally in both musical theater and circus before shifting gears to become both a journalist and a musician. Together with her partner, Oliver, she’s performed across Colorado as the band Trouble’s Braids, playing a vibrant mix of classic Americana folk songs, grungy acoustic covers, and heartfelt originals. Her songwriting influences are broad, ranging from Lucinda Williams to Adrianne Lenker, Tom Waits, and old school PJ Harvey. In a live set, you’re likely to hear high-energy folk rock along with fingerpicking and expertly crafted lyrics.
