The 10th Annual Backcountry Tap Room will be at an all NEW, on-mountain location at Winter Park Resort!
WEATHER PLAN: Rain, Snow, or Shine
From sunshine to snowstorms, the stoke always shows up for the Backcountry Tap Room — and we’re ready for whatever this weekend brings at our 10th Annual event at Winter Park Resort.
Your safety — and your enjoyment — are our top priorities. This event is rain or shine, and with the updated forecast we’ve made a weather pivot plan: no gondola ride needed. Instead, you’ll hike to our new event site at Snoasis, where you’ll still enjoy mountain views, brews, and the added comfort of an indoor shelter option to keep the fun flowing, safely and comfortably. Dogs are still welcome!!
SEE NEW HIKE/LOCATION INFO BELOW!
GET STOKED!
Relive the backcountry magic and get ready for brews and views!!
GETTING THERE: Use the following address for the parking and check-in area. We suggest carpooling it’s more fun and better for the planet!
ADDRESS:
Winter Park Resort
85 Parsenn Rd, Winter Park, CO 80482
PARKING: Please park at the North Bench Lot or the Village Parking Garage and make your way to the Gondola area located in the village (the event no longer requies the gondola). Parking is free.
THE HIKE: This has been UPDATED per our weather pivot plan
See you at the updated event site by way of marked trails. After check-in, head directly onto the Tunnel Hill Trail and follow that til it connects with Summer Road, which you’ll follow straight up past the Explorer Lift to Snoasis, the event site. Total distance: ~1.2 miles one way. This route is considered easy to moderate, with some uneven terrain.
-
Optional longer route: From Tunnel Hill Trail you can extend your hike by exploring the Serenity Trail (loop), then reconnect with Tunnel Hill Trail signage>Summer Road to reach Snoasis.
-
Return options: On the way back, choose to descend via Summer Road, entirely, or retrace your steps on the Tunnel Hill Trail.
Strollers: Portions of the trail are narrow, singletrack-style with roots and rocks, making it difficult to navigate with a stroller. We do not recommend strollers for this hike. Summer Road is dirt/gravel and is more stroller-friendly!

Of course! All dogs MUST BE ON LEASH at all times and please remember to pick up after your pup and properly dispose of your pet’s waste. Do not leave any bags on the trail to “pick up later”. Dogs are still permitted with the weather pivot and the indoor space.
Is this a green event?
Yep! We’re working with Leave No Trace to leave the great outdoors greater than we found it! Please be aware of our zero waste efforts and familiarize yourself with our waste stations. There will be recycling and compost bins along with waste/landfill bags. Please also feel free to pack it in, pack it out – let’s LEAVE NO TRACE!
DOG WASTE: All pet waste will need to go in the Landfill/Waste containers and/or specially marked Dog Waste Bins along the trail. Leave No Trace will have bags available at Check-in.
Please do not leave any bags on the trail to “pick up later”.
Important Things to Remember:
- Be sure to bring a valid ID with proof of your ticket on your phone or a print-out. *TIP: Take a photo/screenshot of your ticket from your email, as wi-fi may not be reliable upon check-in.
- REMINDER: We love and appreciate our designated drivers, but due to the limited space of the event implemented by the county, non-drinkers do have to buy a ticket. This allows us to monitor attendees, and ensure that we’re able to raise money for Leave No Trace.
- No overnight camping – event ends at 5:00 pm with the bars closing promptly at 4:30 pm.
- No smoking.
- Furry friends are welcome, but MUST be on a leash at all times. Please make sure to pick-up after your pup! Do not leave bags on the trail – look out for special dog waste bins or landfill containers. DO NOT put dog waste in compost bins, please.
- Please be mindful of wildlife in the area and be sure to exercise Leave No Trace principles (pack it in, pack it out!).
- NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated event areas marked by the Backcountry Tap Room bar and should not extend on to trails.
- Bring water! We will have a limited amount on-site for your water bottles.
- No refunds. Event is rain, snow or shine (check the weather and plan for it all – come prepared!). Weather will be continuously monitored, as the safety of our guests is paramount. If lightning and thunderstorms are in the area, the event may be shut down or paused for safety – an announcement will be made asking all guests to head down the mountain (event is not above tree line).
