BACKCOUNTRY TAP ROOM

Our Backcountry Tap Room is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a makeshift tap room placed right where adventure happens. A true embodiment of our Après Everything mentality, these hidden gems reward those willing to sweat their way to a cold refreshing beer, swap trail stories with friends, and toast to the trek that got you there.

And because great beer deserves great places to enjoy it, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Leave No Trace, a supporter-based nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the outdoors through science-based education that inspires responsible recreation.

Every ticket sold helps support Leave No Trace’s mission by fueling the development of new science-based education materials, expanding access to outdoor education, and bringing Leave No Trace directly into communities across the country to build foundational outdoor ethics skills that last a lifetime. So every pint, every mile, and every ticket helps protect the places we all love to explore.

Event ticket (hike + beer): $44.00 + fees

Non-drinker ticket & Kids over 16 (hike only): $20.00 + fees

Gondola Start Time: 9:00am

All 21+ attendees (with valid ID) will receive four (4) drinks – good for one (1) specialty brew and up to three (3) more cans of our 12 oz beers, Snowmelt Seltzers, or Stem Ciders.

Every Backcountry Tap Room event will be held at a different remote location, so check back for the “where’s” and “when’s” of the next Backcountry Tap Room. We’ll make sure to put it just far enough out there where the views are unbeatable and the beer tastes amazing.

2026 Location:

Winter Park Resort: Wild Spur | Elevation: 12,060 ft

THE HIKE: NEW location at Winter Park Resort! Head to the tap room by way of marked trails (Lower Roof of the Rockies Trail), with an optional Fantasy Meadows Loop for those who want more mileage. You’ll take the scenic gondola to the top and hike* ~3 miles round trip to the tap room and back, or extend it to ~5.2 miles with the Fantasy Meadows Loop add-on. Your ticket includes the gondola ride.

Things to Know Before Heading Up

No vehicle access: take the gondola up, then hike the trail to the tap room.
Be sure to bring a valid ID with proof of your ticket on your phone or a print-out. TIP: Take a photo/screenshot of your ticket from your email, as wi-fi may not be reliable upon check-in.
Dress for mountain weather: layers and a rain shell are recommended (conditions can shift quickly at elevation).
Trail is not stroller-friendly: portions are narrow, singletrack-style with roots and rocks.
No overnight camping: event ends at 5:00 pm.
No smoking.
Furry friends are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Make sure to pick up after your pup, too!
Please be mindful of wildlife in the area and be sure to exercise Leave No Trace principles (pack it in, pack it out!).
NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated event areas marked by the Backcountry Tap Room bar and should not extend on to trails.
No refunds. Event is rain, snow or shine (check the weather and plan for it all…come prepared!). Weather will be continuously monitored, as the safety of our guests is paramount. If lightning and thunderstorms are in the area, the event may be shut down or paused for safety, an announcement will be made asking all guests to head down the mountain (event is not above tree line).
Limited portable restrooms on-site: Wild Spur has no indoor infrastructure.
