November  Organization:    Colorado Mountain Club

Founded in 1912, the Colorado Mountain Club is Colorado’s leading organization dedicated to education, recreation, conservation and the spirit of adventure. CMC is a gateway to the mountains for all ages and skill levels, offering an array of year-round activities, skill-building courses and travel centered on nature and the great outdoors. CMC’s founders played an instrumental role in establishing Rocky Mountain National Park in 1915, and CMC Conservation continues to be a strong voice for the protection of Colorado’s backcountry and sustainable access for human-powered recreation. Through active learning in the classroom and on the trail, CMC’s award-winning Youth Education Program connects 7,000 young people to the mountains each year.
